Team "Dining with J.T.'s" Team Captains and Team Members are
comprised of a special group of restaurateurs, hospitality leaders,
loyal restaurant patrons, strategic partners of PHR/Gold Key Food
Services, and staff members of the best restaurants and hotels in
Virginia Beach
Last year was amazing, and I was proud to be part of the largest
ALS Walk in the World! For those of you who participated last year,
thank you for the help building the first oceanfront park for the
disabled in America, and for rewarding over $400,000 in grants to
the top researchers in the world to assist in the continued pursuit
of a cure for ALS and other diseases. With such success comes great
expectations and we the network of such great people will not stop
our work just because we have been successful so far. There is so
much more to be done. The missions for this year’s Walk and
Beach Party are:
Care and Maintenance of the Park
The use and enjoyment of JT’s Grommet Island has exceeded our
greatest expectations. Both the young and the old with disabilities
(along with their family and friends) have finally enjoyed their
day at the beach. City resources to maintain the park are being
challenged, so we must help. So, a portion of the proceeds of this
year’s walk will go to make sure the park is maintained
properly “for everybody.”
More Help for ALS Patients
ALS is a cruel disease that destroys its victim’s health and
in most case their finances. In it’s advanced stages,
patients require 24 hour care, and few families can afford these
associated costs. We hope to make a substantial contribution to
these families so their loved ones can have the proper care and
cope with the disease with a reasonable degree of comfort and
dignity.
Research Organization Need Our Help
Meaningful research is being done right now because of our
contributions. All of the medical centers and research facilities
that received grants from last year’s walk have expressed
their gratitude. However, they have asked if we could do more so
they can make more progress and hopefully begin to find some
answers to these perplexing medical challenges. We want to continue
to help these talented and dedicated professionals.
